Scroll to witness the transformation
01: The Origin
Rubber pushed to its absolute limit on circuits that demand perfection. This is where our compound begins its life.
02: The Rebirth
What others discard, we transform. Hand-processed in Japan: the same rubber, reborn with purpose.
Three compounds. Each engineered for a specific climbing profile. All born from the same Grand Prix racing slick: reclaimed, hand-processed, and ready to perform on rock, wall, and everything in between.
The softest rubber in the GP line. Flows into surface texture with a high sensitivity: offers unmatched smearing and friction performance.
The same racing-slick DNA as GP1 Soft, with added firmness. High grip meets improved rigidity and stiffness: the most versatile compound in the lineup for climbers who want everything.
Built for all-round climbing without compromise. Firm enough for edging, grippy enough for everything else. The workhorse of the GP line.

The conventional way
Raw rubber tapped from Hevea trees in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand: harvested and collected at scale.
Shipped thousands of kilometres to a factory, consuming significant fuel and emitting CO₂ before a single sole is made.
Energy-intensive chemical vulcanisation: sulphur, heat accelerators, complex chemical reactions to create the rubber compound.
Finished rubber sheets shipped again: from factory to distributor to workshop, another intercontinental journey.
The RATOM way
Grand Prix racing slicks reach the end of their race life. Pushed to their absolute limit: the compound already perfected under extreme conditions.
Instead of landfill, these slicks are collected and sent to our workshop in Japan: no new raw materials, no virgin rubber required.
Hand-processed by craftsmen in Japan. No industrial chemical reaction from scratch: the compound is already exceptional. We simply reclaim it.
GP Rubber sheets shipped to Europe: distributed by RATOM Europe to resole workshops who put them on climbing shoes that perform.
We didn't invent recycling.
We just gave it a racing pedigree.
Handcrafted in Japan
Every sheet of GP Rubber is hand-processed in Japan by craftsmen who treat material like an art form. This isn't mass production: it's the kind of care and precision that the Japanese have applied to their craft for generations. The result is a rubber sheet with consistency, character, and performance that no automated factory line can replicate.
